The Dead South, formati a Regina, Saskatchewan nel 2012, sono un quartetto folk-bluegrass noto per il suo sound acustico ruvido, che unisce banjo, mandolino, chitarra e violoncello a storie dal tono cupo e a un umorismo tagliente. Il loro brano di svolta, “In Hell, I’ll Be in Good Company”, ha ottenuto la certificazione di platino; tra gli altri preferiti dai fan ci sono “Banjo Odyssey” e “Diamond Ring”.
